i know vafb is a little far south for you norcal kayakers, but i was wondering if anyone has fished its waters in a kayak? im stationed here and just purchased a used scrambler xt from the base outdoor recreation facility (only 35$), lookin in to gettin started. i fish for rockfish all the time off the shore and its excellent, never leave my honey hole without at least 1 legal cab and grassy, but i know ther is much more to be had in deeper waters. ive only caught one ling out off the shore, i casted it as far as possible, so i know they are out ther. any tips greatly appreciated, any morro bay anglers lookin to give me a crash course in kayak fishing contact me.

Welcome aboard! There are a few people from your next of the woods on this site hopefully someone will take you up on the fishing trip. $35 for a kayak, what a deal!
