I had a good paddle out there Sat. even though I didn't manage to feel one fish tug my minnow. It was nice meeting some of you on the water nad running into the Mooch!

I had to cut out Sat. night but had a killer time camping fri. Dustin and the gang had sites 17 & 19. The yaks were on the ground and not on vehicles.

Looks like Sun. was the better fishing day and may have to do a bit with the rain and water clarity.

Looking forward to some more trips up that way.

Yup, we had sites 17 and 19 in the upper loop of sites. We camped Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday night was COLD, but we had a raging fire going.

Joel - thanks for bringing the extra yak, sorry my buddy didn't use it.

We fished Saturday only and I had the only bite, which turned out to be a very hard fighting ~29"er that we BBQ'ed Saturday night.

Sucks, 'cause I really wanted to put Joey and my boy Monte on some stripers.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I can NOT believe my EYES!   the creek that's tricklin past the south-ramp is SAD!...did anybody mark fish in it? :smt044

GP~ don't give up....just switch to the HUNT&DROP method!  watch your FF along the shorelines that drop-off quickly. Do a zig-zag pattern around the 20' to 35' zones, looking for changes like: underwater creek channels(the shoreline will be SPLIT there) and ANY drastical differences that you see.
YOU MUST SEE the FISH-BELOW you FIRST, have your buddies just below the surface in "ready-to-be-deployed" status. As soon as you see the "LARGE sized ARCHs" depending on your speed, the wind and your direction, try to do a hover-over-style-paddle and DROP them STRAIGHT DOWN!

Maintain your position, while you watch your line. When it STOPS, reel some of the SLACK up, MAINTAIN your position!!  it helps to LOOK ONLY at your LINE during this time, trying to keep the ANGLE/direction, STRAIGHT DOWN VERTICALLY!!.....if your not staying put, you'll see it in the line angle.
...now did you get ALL this MADNESS down?! :smt044
trolling has worked for me(&others), but this method has proved to produce
