Well sorta anyway. Got in the water late at 10am. The waves were pinner and there was little wind. I did my usual drift down to the Cement Ship trolling a squid this time instead of a 'chove. I usualy get a few mackeral or kingfish to keep things interesting, but this time I didn't even get that. On the way back I decided to try a second rod in the water while I made my way back towards Capitola. Made it to the 'tola kelp beds, still nothing, and trolled along 'em on my way towards Spong Bob. As I got near the end of the kelp I noticed one of my lines was all tangled up in my rudder. It took me about five minutes to get it untangled and I was now pretty frustrated. I put my second rod away and decided to check my other rod... Damn it! It's caught in the kelp! I start to reel it in and to my surprise it breaks free... then gets caught again... wait a minute... FISH ON! I reeled in a nice Ling. It's not the Halibut I was looking for, but I'll take a Ling anyday.

My dog can't wait for dinner.

I'm used to getting truly skunked at Cap/NB and think of it more as a pleasure paddle than a fishing day. I did catch anoter ling there a coupla years ago though. My schedual doesn't allow me to plan fishing days in advance normaly, I take work when I get it, but I'm always looking for new people to fish with. If you see me say hi. Metalic grey Tacoma/yellow Trident 13, name's Todd. I often fish Carmel as well, although that's where I earned my nickname...

My girlfriend is vegetarian, so my dog often gets meat/fish that I can't eat. Yeah, she's a spoiled pooch!

Well looking through the stock avatars it was either Bob or Shakira. Being as I look more like Bob and actually like his music I choose Bob.  :smt044

Congrats on your ling bro. My first time ever fishing Capitola this year I was rewarded with my personal best halibut(36") on a swimbait. Delicious dinner plate
BTW Todd. Thanks for sharing.
