Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Lowrance Elite 4 HDI
« on: February 15, 2016, 02:29:08 PM »
I was in the same boat with BMAC and looking at the Elite-4 at West Marine for $200.  However, the search on Amazon for ELITE4 CHIRP with navionics turns up this for $326...

http://www.amazon.com/Lowrance-000-11817-001-Fishfinder-Chartplotter-Transducer/dp/B00R9X6CS0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455574239&sr=8-1&keywords=Elite4+CHIRP

If a link for the Amazon one for $254 is available, I would greatly appreciate it.

Im trying to find it on my phone but missing it. I'll try to get back later on a computer. For now, here is the same model at $259+small ship fee. Still significantly cheaper

I'm on my phone so I can't get you a link, but I just got an Elite4 CHIRP with navionics+ for $254 on amazon. Combine that with the $50 mail in rebate lowrance is doing and you're getting a more modern unit for basically the same price.

I am seriously close to getting this deal:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R9X6CS0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

$256 and eligible for the $50 MIR. So $206 all said and done with the map chip
Elite-4 CHIRP with navionics maps.

Thier maps look pretty good too.

I wanted to add that this deal comes with the Navionics Gold maps.

Here is a good post reviewing the base maps vs the Navionics maps.

Read the italicized script by each picture for a quick synopsis of all the thread info in that link.

Introductions / New Paddler out of Sacramento!

Hi all,
I got a new kayak this weekend, an Ascend FS12T. It's the first kayak I've owned and I am excited. I took it out for a maiden on Lake Natomas and ran into the user Salty out there. He was real friendly and we chatted for a little when he mentioned that I should hop on the site. I am looking forward to learning a lot from you guys! Time to hit the search function.

A little background on me. I used to live in San Luis Obispo. That's where I began kayak fishing for Lings. I also freedive, so the yak will double as a diving platform. With that, I own both 7mm and 5/4mm wet suits. I'll be keeping my eye out for a good priced used radio. See you on the water!
