CA Regulations / Crab trap regulation change
« on: August 17, 2021, 01:12:15 PM »
Any info or thoughts on this? "Trap validation" fee info to come in Sept 2021.

Looks like crabbing is having the leash tightened on it.

"Pending Regulation Changes
Recreational Crab Trap Fishery Marine Life Protection Measures
Changes to sections 29.80, 29.85 and 701, Title 14 CCR in December 2020 affecting the
recreational crab trap fishery are expected to go into effect on or before November 1, 2021.
Changes affect individual anglers and CPFV operators, with new marker buoy requirements, a
maximum service interval of 9 days, a trap limit of 10 traps per operator (the CPFV trap limit
remains at 60), Director’s authority for delay or closure, and a new Recreational [sic]Crap Trap
Validation ($2.25) for each fishery participant, which will be available for sale from Online
License Sales in September 2021."

Introductions / New Paddler out of Sacramento!
« on: January 25, 2016, 07:22:05 AM »
Hi all,
I got a new kayak this weekend, an Ascend FS12T. It's the first kayak I've owned and I am excited. I took it out for a maiden on Lake Natomas and ran into the user Salty out there. He was real friendly and we chatted for a little when he mentioned that I should hop on the site. I am looking forward to learning a lot from you guys! Time to hit the search function.

A little background on me. I used to live in San Luis Obispo. That's where I began kayak fishing for Lings. I also freedive, so the yak will double as a diving platform. With that, I own both 7mm and 5/4mm wet suits. I'll be keeping my eye out for a good priced used radio. See you on the water!
Dave
