Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: wheeleze strapping
« on: October 07, 2021, 12:22:35 PM »
I only do the forward strap, and never need the back strap.  By forward I mean the side with the kickstand, that always goes forward, because if you hit anything with it, it just folds in, and if not doesn't really matter.

I've tried to explain this to everyone on why I only use a single strap in a way that the wheeleez won't collapse when you hit a rock or something, but they just don't get it!   :smt044

+1 forward strap only needed for this application. keep it simple. :)

General Fishing Tips / Re: Hunters Point launch
« on: March 13, 2021, 11:37:56 AM »
Power to ya’ on that launch, kinda ghetto?  I wouldn’t go alone and you cannot see your car from the water.  My state park ranger buddy was the ranger there for 2 years and worst park of many for trouble.  Don’t leave anything valuable in your vehicle.  Im not just trying to keep you off the fish :smt005...nastiest tested water in the bay besides deep Richmond harbor...others may have a different opinion. :smt006

+1. Best bet is OP. There's also pier 52 launch and a new park with a launch south of pier 52.

I have a 7’ Medium Action Daiwa Laguna for sale. Never used. Still got tags and wrapping on. It’s missing the little ring from the top guide however. Must’ve gotten knocked off some time in my garage when I was moving my rods around. Selling for $25.

Whats the model?

General Talk / Re: Are there places to buy old, beat-up sea kayaks?
« on: September 19, 2020, 06:52:05 PM »
Yup, talk to Doug at HMB kayak. Picked up a tandem from him not to long ago. Not the best of color but functional for the family. They have a bunch of new kayaks in and off loading the old ones.
