Nice kayak! Nice homemade rack too! Are the brackets strong enough for you to be able to store a kayak on the upper rack?

That is kind of a cool rack. I think I'd add one of the same shelf brackets to the top of the 2 X on the upper level, too.

hi everyone. I've never kayak before and looking to pull the trigger on a used wildy 135 with pedals.  I am limiting myself to used units so if i decide kayak is not for me, i could move it on after a while. I plan to bass fish with it, mostly on the california delta and I am 5' 10" and 170lbs so slim built. Wondering other than the prop nut falling off, are there any major first generation design issues i should be weary of? welcome folk's on water experience!
Bass guy, usually off rented jon boats at reservoirs or backseat on delta. Hoping to get kayak to open up possibilities!

There are really no design issues at all. Even the prop is not an issue if tightened correctly. I can show you how. Mine has hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles on it and has never come loose. I do not even have lock tight on it. The only difference in the boat is that the new one comes with 3 sets of rudder tubes vs the original that had two. You can run the rudder control on the left or the right very easy. The third lines are for the foot control rudder if you got that.
