Mudhole has a black friday and cyber monday sale so you may want to wait and check them out. Last year the cyber monday sale was better.

GB2,
That's what a broke ass fisherman needs to know. Thank you.

I checked mudhole out. Oh man, the next time I ask for a place to buy anything, other than my first yak, please, everyone, tell me, "Dude, didn't you hear? P E T A got bankrolled. Three groups gave 'em billions: 1. The MLPA peeps. 2. "The National Society for the Advancement of Seal and Human Love," and 3. A few really thirsty - read, "Greedy" - men and women, living a little south. So, P E T A bought up every piece of fishing equipment."

I prefer to keep my fishing money in state and purchase my CA made blanks from Acidrod.com . I always receive great service and relatively fast turn around times considering the # of items and variety ordered. They have also fixed a few of my "oops" issues when ordering the wrong components. They even gave me an extra guide (BNLG) that I REALLY needed. :smt007 Now I buy an extra 8 or 10 size guide every time just in case.

If Calstar would just make the Grafighter a moderately straight blank I would be in heaven.

Thanks.
Honestly, I'd prefer to go local, ma and pa; plus, I'd be able to touch the stuff. I found a really nice guy in Benicia, but I just can't afford his markup,,,no knock on him.

I'm gonna check out your place next time, after I strike gold or win the lotto and buy a kayak.

This place isn't local and I believe Kevin the owner is the same person on the Mudhole instructional videos. Really nice guy to work with, prices in line with Mudhole (probably list price) but more interpersonal communication.

Problem with Mudhole is if guide is backordered may take months, at least weeks before you see the component. Probably placing bulk order to maximize price breaks.

For blanks, only use North Fork Composites (Gary Loomis' new company), Jon (GM) is great to work with and even went as far as profiling different blanks to meet my specifications.

Just started wrapping my own rods because I couldn't find a rod builder that had time to build a rod for me back in April. 11 rods later wouldn't think of buying another rod off the rack.

Thanks Dean.

Out of childish impatients, I ordered from a place that will remain unnamed and they messed it all up, so, I'm going to have to wait for a little more bread to finish.
