I would love to try one. Definitely a little heavier than I would want.

But honestly, how many people here have several kayaks for different types of fishing ?  :smt001

I love my hobie outback but there are times I really enjoy my trident 13 for its weight and ease of use when I like keeping it simple.

Am I the only one who thinks that COG looks really high? Looks even higher than the new style Hobie seats, which I also thought looked high...

I'd love to try one in rough conditions water some time. Curious if I'd feel like a rag doll getting tossed around by every wave...

I agree.  I think it does look awfully high.  Definitely looks more like a lake/flat day in the salt type of yak but who knows.

SO I took the PDL to Lake Mendo last Sunday. Damn it is HEAVY.... 117 pounds. thankfully the PDL Drive comes out(-21 pounds).  I was so supersized by the stability of it. I like may here thought COG maybe off due to the seat being so high. When one of the boats went flying by I turned the yak sideways to see how it would take a boat wake and it did just fine. The seat is a bit loose due to the size of the of the seat peg and the hole that it goes into on the slide-lock system, but easy to get used to. it has great speed and maneuverability even when backpedaling. I like that they moved the side pocket forward and made them bigger. with the handle on top of the drive it is way easier to stand up and fish. I am not a big fan of the new redesigned back handle.

Lake test = great.
Ocean test Next.

Ya the weight is what sucks. I have a Hobie Revo and it weights 92 lbs and heavy for me as it is. That's a nice kayak though. Probabbly better to tow it.

Considering the seat on my Slayer Propels are as high, then yes.  It is high.  But they do not affect stability one bit.  I've never felt unstable in my SPs, so I doubt that the PDL is any less stable.
