Jack Smelt



That Jacksmelt seems s little pale to me and doesn't have the yellow blush at it's gil cover - or am I thinking of something else? Was it out of the water for awhile before the pic was taken? Here's another one of a js.

With all the baitfish around SC/ I have ben filling my 'well' and brining them for future use. I have been using the following recipe (minus the anise oil) and it seems to work well. The bluing is a bit hard to find but my local safeway had it.

obkook.... i believe you are right, i think that it a topsmelt, and the one you showed was a jacksmelt

BTW that was not the final version. DFG gave him no thanks and actually made him make changes before they would send it to print. the final version should be in print soon.....
