Hitting the water to go plugging for stripers at Sherman Lake at the crack of dawn Saturday morning.

Anyone else going to be in the area?  I'll have a couple extra cold ones in the cooler.

Cheers

Do you launch from the Marina? What's the fee?

was curious, if you fish sherman lake on regular basis how bad does the wind get and is it manageable?  Tried it about a week ago and was surprised how windy it is in early morning.

Its fall time so there should be some days where the wind stays quiet.

Just wondering how you did. I launched out of Antioch Marina today, Sunday, and fished all over there with no luck at all.

I ended being short on time so I went to lake chabot and got after some large mouth instead.  I'm shooting to get out for striper on this saturday though.  Typically I accidentally catch them when going for black bass, this will be one of my first dedicated striper trips.

Haha same I usually accidentlally catch them fishing for black bass. Do you also feel like you've hooked into a giant black bass when you hook into a striper accidentally haha

Made it out to Sherman Lake this past Saturday.

Hit the morning high tide and like clockwork landed four keepers as soon as the water started moving out (the biggest at 25 inches) within three hours.  They didn't go after my rat-l-trap, A-rig, or spook but did a number on our butterflied shad.  Caught 7 total, 3 were undersized.

Not a bad trip for my first time soakin bait.
