This is the second time the orange adjustment tab has come out unintentionally.  These can sometimes be quite difficult to get back in properly.  Today I was about to launch and must have hit it and it popped out, I was in no mood to fiddle so forced it back in with some pain in the fingers.

Have others run into this?  If so, what solutions are out there?  Is there a better version I can replace these with?

One idea I had was to just screw them in a fixed position - I only need to adjust them once.

I have had the same issue with mine on a few occasions. My procrastination side really hasn't looked into a fix for it. It would be nice to not have it happen though.

I'm going to ask about this because I hate it also. It would be great if the guys who designed this pos paddled with them first. I'll call Ocean Kayak on Tuesday.

I have the same problem. When you get it back together.Strap the orange tab down with electrical wire ties. From behind the black foot pedal frame in three places.Near the end where you can put your finger through the hole. The middle and the end by the foot peg. That's the only way I have found to hold the piece of s...together.It has been fine since.Pull those wire ties tight and you should be o.k.Your foot pedal will no longer be adjustable without removing the wire ties

As a fellow T13 owner I agree with all of you.

I agree.  They are garbage and a source of constant hassle.  Lines and other things get tangled on them and they will pop out with the least provocation.  If I had known about them, I would never have gotten an ocean kayak.   The previous versions worked just fine.  These were designed for barefoot paddlers in bathing suits in Florida, not for fisherman.

I've got a set of the older style foot pegs/rails if someone needs them.

I ran down to a local hydro shop and picked up a roll of Velcro plant strap. I was hoping to use some similar to the items in the link http://www.cableorganizer.com/econo-series/ which I use at work but couldn't seem to find any in my car.

I figure at least with Velcro I can adjust the pedals still if the need arises. I will probably switch to the type in the link because it tends to have more grab vs the plant strap.

The wire ties idea is great.  I'm going to try that and see what happens.

Just to be clear I'm really stoked about the T13, it's an amazing boat.  I was just out in HMB on Sunday riding swells that must have been 6 or more feet like it was nothing.  That boat just seems to stick to the water - very pleased with the way it handles.  Now I just need to fix these little orange tab thingies.

I thought Sarah was just being picky always complaining about her foot rests. She absolutely loves the 2014 T-13 but hates the foot rests even to the point she has thought about getting another kayak and I thought she just wanted a new kayak.  :smt005

Exactly, Craig. Hope this issue is resolved before I am ready to buy another kayak. Not that I will switch brands, but the thought of having to deal with those pain in the ass foot rests again...  :smt011
Take care,
 Sarah

Same orange tabs on the Predators.  The foot cuffs on my drysuit always catch them and re-adjust the placement. Grrrr...
