Your best bet is to email your question to Fish & Game departments in both California and Texas.

Howard,
YOU are my F&G rules guy!

Firstly, greetings from Austin, Texas.  There is no good lingcod or halibut fishing here.

Secondly, I am too lazy to look up the regs.

As some of you guys know, I am here in Austin for my restaurant startup (www.EbisuAustin.com).
I want some uni shells for decorative pieces.
If it is legal to mail interstate uni shells, I need a box of them, and will pay (again, so long as it is not against regs).

I will await your response... and dream about yakfishing in Cali...

:jawdrop Enjoyed every bit of it.  No halibut fishing here in Austin, TX...

Just my .02, $375 seems like a stretch for this.  The hull looks pretty scraped up.  It seems like lately there have been some tridents and prowlers going for 500 ish that looked almost new... may be better to try and raise a little more for one of those.   :smt006
Agree! I'd offer $125...

Got one laying around the house.  Comes with lanyard and general USB charger.
Rear battery compartment latch has wear (i'm guessing from salt?).
Make me an offer...
pick up in San Ramon, meet somewhere, or you pay shipping

Best wishes Jon. Got you covered if you are visiting the Monterey area and would like to use a kayak of mine. 18 Hobie or trident 13.
Cheers Bro !

Alex
Super Appreciated, old dog! I mean "Bulldog"!

Even though you're moving I still expect you to remain somewhat active here.  :smt002
Good luck in Austin. I know you'll do GREAT!
What's the name of the new digs?
My only regret is that I never got to fish in your back yard... but I'll always have your taco recipe! Ebisu will open in July/August, and address is 13376 Research Blvd, Austin, TX.  The address also goes by 13376 N. Hwy 183, Austin, TX.  If all goes well, should start on the 2nd project in early 2020.

PM me on the paddle and I'll give you the NCKA OG special price.

You will be missed, but maybe we will have to come out to Austin to visit.
Present your NCKA card and get free food and beer.  Present your Crabfest card for additional discount.

John, Best of luck on your restaurant!  I hope you do well and prosper.
Thanks for the well wishes.  I was gonna borrow your buddy yak, but I heard through the grapevine that you've been thinning your herd... lol.

I'm super sad to hear that you're leaving the area, but grateful for the times that we had shared over the years fishing for Salmon , spb dinos, yellowtail in socal and rf.

Wishing you the best brah, and looking forward to fishing with you again soon. Let us know, we will have a fishing set up for you here when you come to visit.--keith
Thanks Keith!  When I think of big fish, I think of you!

I don't plan to buy anything, I wish you good luck on your new life and adventure  :smt006 :smt007
TY TY! Y'all giving me fuzzy feelings...

Good luck everything out there John! We will hit So Cal together one day.  :smt001
Thanks! Yes sir, Socal is always on my mind...

Braddah John!  So grateful I met you and spent some fishing hours with you.  Be well and again am super grateful to have met you... as hightide said...God Bless you on your bold new adventure...:smt006
Blessings right back at you Eddie.  Keep on hooking those halibut and salmon!

I'm sure Austin and Texas will treat you right.  My brother lives there and I usually make it through Austin when I visit my family in Houston.  Good luck with your new adventure.
John, all the best in your new endeavors.  Look forward to checking out your restaurant next time in town. Be well
Matanaska & CJ, thanks for the best wishes. Do stop on by, the address is 13376 Research Blvd, Austin, TX.

Wow, big news John!! That is really cool. I didn’t even know you were a restauranteur! :-) I was in Austin for a week last summer and it was a fun town. Seemed like lots of outdoor/fishing opportunities too. I hope the biz is uber successful. And you can borrow one of my yaks whenever you return to CA, but you have to pick it up in Monterey :-)
It was only 10 years ago that I bought my first ever yak from you, the pretty yum yum yellow T140.  You helped me catch my first RF that day (albeit it was tiny and my only fish of the day...) Yeah, so you better hook me up with a buddy yak in Monterey... thx for the best wishes.

Jeez... didn't know this thread was going to be a farewell thread. :smt044  Now back to regular programming

Good luck with your new opportunity. There's good fishing on 6th street ;)
I am sure there is plenty of interest on the items you have for sale, prices would be key on how fast will they be moving.
So, what's the asking price for the Revo and the whole kitchen sink?
Thanks.  All kinds of fishin down there... lol.
CAM PM'd me first, so he has dibs on the Revo.  Yes, I am selling individually.
As for pricing, I ask what the buyer considers fair, and I usually go with that price. 'Bro' pricing has worked for me all these years.  So if interested, make me an offer.

God Bless John. Had fun clamming and fishing with you.
Wishing you success on the restaurant.  :smt006

Thanks for the best wishes and blessings.  Yes sir, it has been fun... but I'm not done yakfishing yet... it's just that business gets in the way of fishing... lol.

I travel to Austin on business from time to time.  PM me the restaurant address and I can drop by to say hello the next time I am in town.
Sonny, it's located at 13376 N. Hwy 183, Austin, TX 78750.  I'll have a cold 512 IPA and some sashimi waiting for you.

Will miss chatting with you, Jonathan. You're welcome to use my kayak anytime you're out this way although yu will have to paddle, not pedal. :)

Let me know where you end up. I will eventually do another cross-country road trip.
Howard, thanks for the offer!  I'll swing by your place for a chat... I'll be back monthly once the construction is done and restaurant is open...

Oh wow Hamachi 😮 I've thinking about sending you a pm since I haven't heard from you for a while. I wish you good luck and hope you become filty rich 😀. Let me know when you want to hit the water while visiting CA. I'll have a kayak for you. 😀

Thank you, thank you! Been enjoying your video reports.  First restaurant is a Japanese restaurant, close to the Apple campus that will be expanded.  It will have a nice liquor bar, so do stop by if ever in Austin!

Hamachi!

« on: February 14, 2019, 09:52:48 PM »
So... I'm selling my Hobie Revo 13.
I haven't posted or yakfished in awhile... to make a long story short, I am moving to Austin next week, but will be in town for a few days each month.  Will be opening a restaurant out there, first one opens in July/August, so hit me up if you are in town then.

I don't have photos yet, as i'll have to get the Hobie Revo out of storage.  The attached photo is from a previous fish report post. I know it helps to have photos, so apologies in advance. If this sounds sketchy, rest assured this is NOT a scam.  Maybe Hojo will vouch for me?  :smt006

Will sell each item separately

SOLD2016 Hobie Revo $1,700
I thinks it's 2016. turbo fins. MD 180 reverse Drive. I bought it and fished it twice (once on the salt, and once on the delta).  I'll have to check the serial # once I get it out of storage. It's stone color. the orange tape on the sides (for visibility) has cabinet liner underneath, so the cleanup job will be minimal.  It comes with the vantage seats.  I also got replacement for the drive pulley thing, but haven't installed it.  The hull is clean inside out.  I put JB Weld on the keel to prevent scratches/wear.

Hobie Sail Kit.
I think I used it once,  I don't remember.  Have a DIY furler I made for it. I'll post photos when I get it.[/s]

Hobie Sidekick Ama SOLD
It comes with the hardware to mount on your Revo

Lowrance Hook 5 (new)
I opened the box, but haven't installed it.

Werner Corryvrecken carbon paddle (will have to check size)
Used it maybe twice...

Bending Branches carbon paddle (will have to check size)
Used it alot when I did fish...

Gonna keep my rod/reels, but probably have lot's of stuff to give away.
I realize it's going to frustrate many of you that I don't have photos yet, but hollar if you have an interest.  I will get it out of storage and get some photos.

HamachiJohn

P.s. I hope someone has a buddy yak they can let me use when I am visiting CA and want to fish them lings!

We'll bring dessert.
