Gonna hit shadow cliffs for about 3-4 hours tomorrow morning. just gonna topline and possibly jig for onc. mykiss out of my new kayak and see if I can shake a couple cobwebs off.

Probably be on around 6ish and off around 9:30am to go home and do some chores.  company welcome. I won't be on 69, but feel free to yell at me, I mean the lake is like 20 feet across.

I have an extra kayak if anyone wants to join. Just bring inspection and launch money ($7).

Have a good time out there! I'm pretty sure they already started stocking that lake, so hopefully you can get into some of them! tight lines!

Dang, I'd join you if I didn't have to meet a client.  Enjoy your new ride and post some fish!

Decent morning. Got on the lake by 630, just as the sun was peeking over the horizon.  Inspector was super chill.

No bites for a while, got first hit at 730am on a j7 rapala - lost him at the boat.
got a hit around 7:35 on a bx6 rapala - lost him about 30 feet behind the boat
745 got another hit on the j7 - lost him at the boat

..crickets..

8:45am - solid hit on the bx6, unbuttoned quick
8:50am - got a hit on the j7 - final-frickin-ly.  Small fish, 14" or so.
9:15am - got tangled. had to retie
9:30am - hit on the bx6- lost him at the boat. mo*************
10:00am - hit on the bx6 - landed him, 15"
10:10am - short strike on the bx6.

i jigged for fish in there somewhere and caught a bass.

Total 8 hits trolling, mostly middle of the lake, could see fish puddling. saw fish on the screen deeper but had no luck dragging deeper divers.  All toplining between 2.2-2.8mph.  Most of the fish were lost because of poor hook placement, just in the lip. they were not aggressively hitting the rapalas.  part of the issue was i was using kokanee gear and not getting solid hookups due to slow action of rod.  i'll go back to my faster action spinning gear next trip.

One pb out there anchored about 200 yards off the beach between ramp and dock 1. he landed 5 on powerbait by 9am. he was anchored on the shelf where it drops from 25-30 feet, casting into about 25' of water. if you want fish, do what he did.
No more love after 10am. off the water by 11 and going to get a burger now.

Must be nice to be able to fit the yak inside your SUV.  Will look forward to your new yak write up later. Thanks for the  detailed report. I love that first photo of the yak and sunrise background!

I'll be hitting Shadycliffs in the near future...

Water temp is a bit warm for trolling, it was between 68 and 69 last week.  Troll bite is good for me around 60 degrees.  Great report!
