Are there any alternatives out there to plain old plastic vacuum seal bags? Has any company come up with biodegradable bags that can be used with a vacuum sealer? Cutting out plastic Foodsaver bags would eliminate a lot of my plastic use.

Thanks!
Andrew

Wash them, would be even more environmentally friendly.   :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

Yeah, I do reuse them, but every time, I have to slice off the top (and throw it out), and the bag gets smaller, and eventually it needs to be tossed.
There needs to be a truly 100% reusable or compostable freezer bag.

Just go old school and get butcher wrap . If you are going through your fish then it shouldn't be an issue

Well before I could afford a foodsaver damn you college. Talk about a taste of money. But guess that is today world.
I used ziplocks that had a vacuum sealing system. If used the way your looking to use it would work pretty well.

Was something like this. Would say for worked really well for fish as long as it was not saved longer then 6 months.. But if your saving anything longer then 6months you need to eat more of your catch.
