If there is a window in the weather I am going to attempt to troll up a monster trout before ice takes the lakes over. I will go either sat/sun depending on weather predictions as the weekend approaches.

UPDATED: I will be going next sunday weather permitting. The lakes are on fire right now. If anyone wants to join bring both a rainbow trout patterned jointed shallow diving bomber/rapala and a deep diving rainbow trout bomber/rebel. Might want to have a trusty gold and black j9 rapala too.

Considering an attempt at a trout grand slam for sunday.

Start the morning at Heenan lake for cutthroat.

Soak some redworms at caples or silver for a rainbow.

Fish the evening trolling large plugs for a brown and a mac.

cut + bow + mac + brown = trout grand slam

Brian,
just want to clarify which day you're going.  This Sudnay 10/21 or next Sunday 10/28?    How's the weather looking?  I just might be up for that challenge.

I always do well at caples. It's as if these fish have never seen a kastmaster before, (put a lil stinky on it)  2 years ago I had my limit by noon and that was the week before thanksgiving, last year it was late sept, (the weather that day was like 70 both years)good luck on that weather, that is farther than I want to travel this time.. maybe next

trout fishing is what I love to do.  I've fished many of the high sierra lakes but I haven't fished the ones you are talking about.

Fishing new lakes for a "Trout Grand Slam" sounds great.  I shot you an email with my cell.  give me a call when you have a chance.
