Hi Everyone,

I joined this site a couple weeks ago and thought I should introduce myself.  My name's Dan.  I live in San Jose.  I don't own a kayak (yet!  :smt013) but have wanted one for over a year now.

I have been learning whatever I can about them from site until that special day comes.  It's an awesome site with tons of great information.

If you ask my buddy, SmokeOnTheWater, he'll tell you that I've been talking about kayaks for a while now.  I guess I talked about them so much that he ended up joining this site before me and getting one recently.  Me?  I'm still standing dry and fishless from the bank.  Maybe I can guilt him into letting me take his 'yak out one of these days and maybe joining this site will help me bite the bullet and get my own kayak.

I love all kinds of fishing (although the bass game's been pissing me off lately) and would love a 'yak for the rockfish fishery.  After being on a few party boats and skiffs out in Emeryville/Capitola, I find jigging for rocks to be the most fun.  Saying that, I've never tried halibut/seabass/salmon fishing.

I hope to keep learning as much as I can from you guys and get a 'yak of my own soon so I can see you all on the water.

- Dan

Come out to Clearlake and borrow one... Usually extras can be had from Yakhopper or try headwaters kayaks or VWOOL... Pre arrange one. Feed the fever!!! :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 (classifieds on the board, several for sale)
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

His lack of focus.  He wants a kayak, a mountain bike...everything!  I've been telling him to get his shit together and get a yak!   :smt003

Welcome, Skunkasaurus. Agree with you, this is a great site, full of information from experienced yakker/fisherpersons. See you OTW.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Smoke's right: I'm not focused.  I want it all but my bank account's not cooperating one bit.  My current project's rebuilding the motor in my 82 diesel VW pick up truck.  It's a project in motion since October!

I'd love to try out a spare sometime very soon.  I get the feeling that as soon as I jump on one I'll be sold real fast.  I love the water; can never spend enough time there.

Nope..I've been telling him that Mooch.   He enjoys fishing so much he's been talking about getting a kayak forever, yet he wants to get a bike first.  You guys need to set this guy straight...haha.

Shit, I acknowledge my faults.

Seeing Juanita-san's (Smoke's) decked out yak made me realize my error.

Hey man, I joined up before owning a yak too! No worries, this is the best place to find a good deal on a used yak anyways!
