Spending the next week in Tennessee with the folks at Jackson Kayak. I get to tour the factory fish out of the new boats and party with the Jackson's.

Any plans to make a narrower, lighter, lower CG ocean oriented fishing kayak? I love all their clever ideas and the way they think outside the box. I bet they could come up with sweet alternative to the OK Ultra line.

+1 with fishkraft, how about some sort of alternate drive system?

I hear there may be something in the works. They have been tight lips as to details, but its geared the coastal angler.

Today we hit the water for bass musky and walleye. It's been fun to meet other kayak fishermen and women from all over the US.

Here are some of the things going on at Jackson. The Cuda gets a new center hatch with built in tracks and an easy access port to access the insert which is also standard. All the fishing boats also get a super nice inflatable lumbar support which is a huge upgrade.

I took the new Cruise 10 on our river trip. I was able to make it down some class 3 but it was not without some bracing. It was easy to spin around, and I was still managed to stand and fish no problem.

I spent some time with Luther from Yak Attack who was there to help promote and release his new Yak Attack Edition Coosa and Big Tuna. They are doing a limited run with his company colors and its all rigged up to his specs. He also did a rigging seminar that was super enlightening. The guy is super plugged in to whats going on in the business. It was a pleasure to bend his ear for a few hours. Super nice guy.

Ram was also there to show off their 2014 lineup and talk about their partnership with Yak Attack and Jackson. In 2014 the Cuda has a new quick release base system behind the seats and Yakattack Zooka tubes that attack to the tracks on the hatch. The new Zooka tube is going to be the new go to rod holder for yak anglers. It fits spinning and bait caster and works better than anything I've seen. I will do a walkthrough video when I get a minute to describe it better.

They are also rotomolding Orca Coolers and they had a few of these pre run Jackson Coolers that looked so bad ass.

The Boxes with rod holders on them are called JKrates. They are a solid rotomolded box with threaded inserts all around for mounting rod holders and other Ram accessories. The top bungess down and has additional tracks with two Ram Tubes. The idea is that someone would be able to throw tackle in the box without it falling though like a milk crate. Also when your done you can just slide off all your ram accessories like fish finder mounts flags etc and just attack them to the box and have one thing to carry to the car. It may not be everyones cup of tea but it shows just how much they are thinking outside the box.

Holly porcupine batman ....  That thing has rigging galore!  Is that a large rear view mirror on the bow?

Like the ice chest.  Something OTHER than white!
