Does the new seat fit into the existing hardware or is there an installation required? I have a voucher for the new seat and trying to decide whether or not its worth it. Is it as low as the standard low seat in the low position?

You'll have to ask Rob for that.  I tried it out for a little bit on Rob's Ride, and thought it was a comfortable seat. My guess is that it is slightly higher than a bare bones seat. I was in the high position most of the time.  It felt stable, and it was incredibly easy to transition from sitting to standing.  It's not the seat I would want in rough conditions, but it would be great on calm bodies of water where I want maximum comfort or a better view of the water below.

It fits all 2012 and newer rides. I'm not sure about the height from one low seat to the other. I will check out tomorrow when I have a chance.

I would highly recommend the new seat. It is well worth it. Don't take that as a sales pitch, it is really nice.

I know this is prolly being naive and silly, but I think it would be really cool if all these new "rigid" seats or whatever you want to call them could be interchanged between kayak brands...

You know like the "old" seats that you could swap from one yak to the other just by clipping to the pad eyes??

That way paddlers could really choose what seat works best for them and the kind of paddler/angler/diver they are...the way it is now you kinda need to take the seat along with the yak....

Anyway, the new WS Thresher and this new seat look killer and I am looking forward to seeing you out there on em!
