Title: 7/10 Barge Canal
Post by: sumyunggy on July 09, 2010, 11:06:22 AM
Hey y'all, Planning on hitting the port of Sacramento launching from the Barge Canal access in the morning (~6am).  First time out in the area so any advice would be appreciated.  Company welcome.

Good luck, I hear a stripers are being caught here and there.  Fish the boat launch area for some bait fish.  Mudsuckers/bluegill fished under a bobber can be deadly.  If you have a FF rigged look for baitballs.  Usually you'll find stripers chasing bluegills or even shad up against the lockes.  Watch for surface/bird action.  Oh and I'd be sure to bring some jerk baits/swimbaits.
