Introductions / Re: howdy from Calistoga!

I have a Ocean kayak Trident 15

But I fished for years with and old double kayak... look for good ocean conditions and pick an easy launch like fort Ross, timber cove or Stillwater and you can get in the mix

Welcome to come out if you’re interested... carpooling is always great

Hey Dave

Just relocated to Calistoga from the coast

Easy ~hour out the coast for lings and rockfish.  Sonoma coast is awesome

Calistoga is a really mellow town

Nice man!

We went over to the north side and dug around for a bit near the coast guard station but wasn’t really feelin it

Then we drove over to gils on your rec just to scope it out for tomorrow... a few heads over there getting them. Dug a few up but had a late start as I’m hanging with the GF’s family

Gonna go for the real dig mañana

I was looking on the W / NW side of gils in that little pocket... is that the ticket??

🤙🤙🤙🤙

Right on Crash... gils near king salmon

I saw a post you made in August 2015 with that same map

Lol, I was kind of waiting for someone to berate me with the classic “use the damn search function” but you were very nice about it 🙃

Stoked though for tomorrow... weather is oof the hook and the killer tide not too early.  Hope to see you out there 🤙🤙🤙

Hey all,

I find myself up here in arcata this weekend and it looks like a -1.8 tide mañana @ 8am

Any of you northerners have a good spot to dig some gapers? I have dug then at tomatoes for years but never up here

I wouldn’t normally ask for anyone’s secret fishing location but feel like directions to the clam beds is a bit different 🤷🏻‍♂️

Any general direction would be greatly appreciated

✌️✌️✌️

General Talk / Stolen Kayak - T15 @ Duncans Landing
« on: November 24, 2017, 04:25:45 PM »
Hi Everybody,

I am in search of an Sand/Beige colored Ocean Kayak Trident 15 that was lifted off the beach at Duncan's Landing in between Bodega Bay and Jenner.

 :smt010

For the past 7 years I have set crab pots out of Duncan's Landing and left my kayak on the beach for a few nights.  I left it down there sunday night and tuesday morning it was gone.  It's a small community out here and between knowing the rangers and everyone living in Carmet things are usually cool.  However, I always knew it was a risk and this is 100% my fault.

I touched base with the rangers/lifeguards and they didn't pull it off the beach, took a look on clist but didn't see it getting hawked immediately.

Anyways, it's a pretty distinct yak, rigged for a lowrance FF in the sonar hatch.  kind of beat up with one of the nylon side handles ripped off.

Any help greatly appreciated,  $ reward or half a case of good wine or whatever.  heres a couple of pics as well

Thx

Odog

So 6k total including the 5k permit???

EDIT...  whoops, saw you dropped 4K on the gennie

I live out in cazadero and was looking into genny power during these last storms...

I figured  ~300 for manual transfer breaker box + ~ 300 pro labor + whatever you can find a 8-10k generator for so maybe 1500 - 2k all said and done

How about I give you the c note for that avet reel you just bought and you can keep the sunglasses!

Man, been looking for a reel and missed that one!

General Talk / Re: How much do you pay for propane?
« on: November 25, 2016, 01:33:00 PM »
Yea I have been living in cazadero for a few years now and was originally with northern? Until it was bought out by Amerigas who promptly tried to charge me somewhere in the neighborhood of 4+ bucks a gallon!  Bull.....

Called every provider in the Russian river are and ferrelgas was best by far.  There's a few things to weigh, tanks rental, first filll discount, auto fill or not, etc.

What's this SPUG discount?  Took a look on their website and there area is clear and I don't live in it but if be happy to pay their annual dues of 20$ for a discount on my propane.

1.79/gallon with that discount is a pretty killer price for winter

I'll have to call and see what it is sans discount ahora

Wanted To Buy / WTB your spare paddle???
« on: August 22, 2016, 05:49:52 PM »
Looking to see if anyone has a paddle they want to sell in the Windsor, Santa Rosa, guerneville area.

Must have gone through 3 this year.  Lost one, broke one, lost one

The ones at dicks and sport authority are garbage

Anyways, work in Calistoga and live in cazadero so anywhere on between.

Thanks

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Flooded Lowrance Elite-5
« on: July 20, 2016, 06:23:48 PM »
Another hat in the ring for a Lowrance 5 fail...

No submersion, mine just had a weird startup after <10 outings and died.  Sent it in and they confirmed the death and sent me a new hook 5.

Can't say I have much confidence in it and am hoping it doesn't take a crap first day out of warranty leaving me with a 300$ paperweight...
