For Sale / Folding crab traps
« on: October 21, 2023, 05:31:39 PM »
I have 6 folding crab traps that I probably won’t use again if anyone needs some traps for the up coming season. I’m not really sure what they are worth maybe 20$ a piece or all for 100? Make an offer ? I think there are two different styles. Up in Placerville or could meet in Sacramento area.

My son told me he is gonna sell his trident 13 he doesn’t use it much and he will eventually be moving. If anyone is looking for a kayak I can put you in touch. He said it’s in good shape but some of the straps and bungees are shot from the sun and need replaced. He is going to leave the Lowrance Mark Four fish finder with it and transducer. It has been wired and was working last time used but he hasn’t used it for about 5 years and doesn’t have a battery so doesn’t know if it still works. Paddle included. he lives in roseville if interested shoot me a message and I will get you his number. He said he is gonna list it on CL for 650 but is open to offers from ncka

General Talk / Places to go for nature paddle/relaxing
« on: August 08, 2020, 06:06:41 AM »
I have a good friend who wants to take his brother out for some relaxing kayak touring. Somewhere where they can enjoy some nature maybe see some otters or seals or something along the coast. He was thinking of moss landing but I couldn’t give him much info as I have never been there. I think they want to go somewhere along the coast.

I have a couple kayaks I could loan him but I said there might be some where there to rent so they don’t have to mess with hauling them and all that. I just wasn’t sure with the whole covid thing if these places were still open. I told him I will help watch the weather and check wind and swell forecasts for whenever they go.

I would also appreciate any other suggestions to if someone knows a good place they could go for a paddle Any info on places to rent and orpaddle. Thanks in advance

Wanted To Buy / Re: WTB Range Finder

If you have to go new I got one from bass pro made by SIG I think it’s a 1200. It has the red light up display. Very helpful to read right as shooting time is expiring. I ordered it the day after I couldn’t read my bushnell in the late evening staring at a bull across a canyon. I like my bushnell better for archery hunting because it showed me both distances very easily both the line of sight and the adjusted for slope with just a click to go back and forth. The sig takes a little more buttons to go back and forth but for rifle season it seems much better.

If anyone is going to Colorado for mid elk season it’s a good way to cover your fuel expenses on the way home maybe. I have some friends going mid October I can’t remember if they take one rig or two but I will find out if they are interested if you like

Hobie Kayaks / Re: New vessel and a parade of errors

Congrats on a sweet ride I have one and love it. I paddle out then drop in my pedals once I’m in a comfy spot. I also constantly forget to undo the bungee on my rudder too  but I usually always go out with someone so I have them unhook it. On the return I pop up my pedals and use my paddle for the last big push. I usually leave the rudder down I think it can kick up anyways or maybe pull the cord that locks it down. I don’t mind paddleing my revo you never know when you might have to resort to the paddle

The more you go the more you will get used to how everything works and it will become second nature. I go just often enough that I can’t ever remember how to lock my seat in

Would anyone going to GStwelve be able to pick up a melting pot from Eric (yakhopper) and bring it back to the Sacramento area or bonus points if it’s to the placerville area. I could hook you up a dime bag of some jigheads to make it worth your while. Thanks

CA Regulations / Re: Can I Use My Drone as a Jig?
« on: February 12, 2018, 08:22:49 PM »
That is a worthy goal wilderness hunter. I too am looking forward to downing my neighbourhood drone. One of these days it’s gonna get close enough. Every time I think I hear it it’s a mad dash for my shotgun. At least it gives me something I can still hunt with my high base lead shells
