As much as possible I don’t want to sell my pescador pilot.  Does anyone know here a cheap storage for a kayak in or near Alameda? Or anyone willing to help a brother out, can spare a space in their garage or something?  Or maybe willing to split cost of storage?

Thanks!

I'm not in Alameda but I'm up in Berkeley.  I can store your kayak for you.
I have a covered storage in my backyard for my Trident 13 and tandem kayak.  I have room for one more.
Let me know.

Looks like the Aeolian yacht club has storage at the base of the Harbor Bay Island bridge for about $28/ month.

Not sure if there's any other fees necessary to store there. I have no relationship to these folks in any way other than I paddle past the club a couple times a month.

Might also be water-side storage at the other clubs near the Webster tunnel.

Hi SC!
I might take you up on that offer. Let me just re-assess my situation, because for now, I was able to squeeze it inside the apartment just enough for us to open the door a bit and the Mrs. hasn't given me the "move your F***ing kayak or I'll kill you" look yet.

If I'm not able to come back in this forum, remember that I fought the good fight for all the married yakers out there.

I did check the website and saw a membership fee.  I'll call them up tomorrow and see if a membership is necessary.

Are you in an apartment or something? If you have ANY outdoor space you could fashion a rack to hold it right against the side of your house and put a tarp over it. Or, you could use straps/pulleys to suspend it from the ceiling.

Yeah, not happening.  I was emailed not to put any personal items in “common areas”.  There’s basically the inside of our apartment and eveything else are “common areas”.  Not even allowed to put it in our parking lot.

Here’s what it looks like from the inside.

And here’s from the aftermath last night, and I am not talking about the earthquake.  This is from my wife’s “gentle reminder” when she got back from work.
