Shark Tech...didn't even know it existed. Will definitely look into it.
I'm pretty sure I would have tied that onto the kayak and deployed it into the water.
Glad your encounter was only a sighting and nothing more. I'm sure it immediately put things into perspective.

HOLY SHIT! small or big, it does make one think about being out in the ocean, on a piece of plastic.
Glad you made it out alive and no blood was spilled Rob. I still suffer to this day and it aint a good feeling at all.

Wow! That must have been intense. I had a drive by at Shelter Cove 2 years ago, I still remember when it just went to pause and suspended under my kayak, I don't know what to do. until something splash not too far, I saw the swing of that tails and ripples it made. I'm still processing on what could have happen if I made a wrong move. I'm investing on Sharkbanz soon.

Glad you're safe Rob!

Not too long ago, one of my friends that's not on NCKA, hooked onto a juvenile GWS just outside of the Jaws while trolling for salmon.  I used to fish HMB a lot by myself....not anymore!

Thanks Jason! That must of been one hell of ride! Suddenly an AI is looking very tempting..

I was thinking the same thing!  Must get an AI again ASAP!!!

Try jumping off a dive boat to find one hovering directly underneath it.

Here's a link with some videos

I thought about deploying it, but realized I still had to get in and might still need along the way. The can I carry is small but seems to release over a seconds but not minutes.

I also wear this in case of a full hit and I'm either knocked out or scrambling something is being immediately released as soon as it gets wet

Sharkbanz is a magnetic anklet deterrent I also usually bring but forgot this day. Again mostly if I wind up I n the water not preventive

Thanks! You were actually the first person I thought of Adam! I remember thinking having the experience is one thing, not knowing if it's over and if the shark is coming back was the worst part for me. Can't imagine what that was like for you!

Dang, Rob! I don't know how I missed your post but glad your're doing well--and thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
And honestly, I hadn't heard of Sharktec, Sharkbanz, OR the Shark Repellant! So, thanks for that too.
