2019 KBF TRAIL Series Overview
KBF Members can pit their skill against world-class kayak bass anglers in regional tournaments. KBF TRAIL Series Tournaments are stepping stones to five 2019 KBF Regional TRAIL Series Championships, the 2019 KBF TRAIL Series National Championship and the 2020 KBF National Championship (March 2020) and, the 2019 KBF TRAIL Series National Championship in October on the Mississippi River near La Crosse, Wisconsin. Tournament Entry Fees remain at $75 for 2019

Can anyone fish a KBF TRAIL Series Tournament in 2019?
Well, yes…but only if he becomes a KBF Lifetime Member or 2019 KBF Competitor Member (Standard, Military, or Student). Non-members must pay their KBF Competitor Membership Dues (and KBF Ambassador Members must upgrade to Competitor membership) by midnight before competition to be eligible to register and compete.

Wow, these kayak bass tourney's are popular. Any members doing these? Been thinking about it. Was on the delta last week trying to get on the pre spawn bite but only managed one decent bass. Should be picking up soon.

K. Thao wins with 86.25".  Water temps hovered around 51 degrees with visibility ranging from just a few inches near the creeks to a foot or two on the main body. Tough conditions, but there were still bass willing to bite.  It seems like the winning strategy was to target spotted bass in the 20-30 ft range with finesse baits like dropshot, ned rig, and shakey heads.

I fished and had a good time. This was my first kayak bass tournament.  It had a nice blend of a laid back day of fishing and tournament competition. Open launch spread the 147 angler field throughout the lake. I launched at putah and went to the big island and back on my hobie outback.  I threw spinnerbaits and crankbaits the majority of the time without a bite until I finally figured out the spotted bass bite.  It was a good day and I'll fish more of these in the future.
