Title: Which new reel??
Post by: jweb on November 18, 2017, 11:33:59 AM
In the market for a new baitcaster to use in the salt.

Was considering these two: Diawa Costal TWS  Diawa Lexa 300HD

Anyone have any experience/opinions on them? Any other options I should consider in the $180 range?

Thanks!

Those two are on the lower end of the daiwa line up so they should be equal which ever one you choose. A reel that I know is a work horse in a low profile is the curado 300 series.although it'll cost you a few bucks more

I have a Tekota 300LC is a really nice reel. Perfect weight for kayak fishing and line counter is a nice feature to have. It's not on the cheap side, but worth the price for under $200.

What Da Bruddah said.

The Daiwa reels offer every bit the quality and durability of a Shimano reel.
