Looking for a GPS + VHF radio (e.g. HX870/851). I intend to dive down in Big Sur as often as swell will allow and figure it's remote enough to merit GPS.

I just sold my extra one to some guy who stopped by in a 16 wheel rig, probably to hold his Native Titan 14 or Pro Angler 14.
Thresher in avatar and Soupfin Shark in signature both caught and pic taken by me.
3rd place Kayak Connection Derby, 2014
45th place / 423 pts / 3 Species - AOTY 2014 (nowhere to go but up!)
30th place / 1132.25 pts / 7 Species - AOTY 2015 (moving up a little!)

Always looking for new people to fish with!

Bummer! Hopefully he makes good use of it in his monster truck =P

I'd just drop the 2 bills and get a brand new one - worth it for sure.  All you have to do is have a used one not come through when you need it, and it'll be the worst idea you ever had.  If you're doing remote beach/cove launches, traveling a potentially volatile coastline that could fog in or where wind could cause you to have to improvise a new landing spot, and you are wanting to push those limits as part of your M.O., there's no question in my mind that you want the most reliable electronics that you can have - AND backup/redundancy, especially on GPS and VHF.

Best of luck.  :smt001

Great point. Thank you for the confirmation. That is what I was thinking as well, but wasn't sure if used would just be more economical if it was still reliable. This isn't one of those areas to risk. thanks for the words.
