Some details follow:

After some time making measurements and sketches, I purchased 3 - 8' lengths of 1" x 6" and a couple 8' -  2" x 4"s and got to work cutting a drilling the rungs'

Bolted the rungs to the upright 2' x 4"s

Cut up a Tow strap into 4 smaller straps and sewed loops at the ends.

Attached the straps to the rungs.

Lastly, bolted up the racks to a vertical wall surface and hung one boat up.

Looks good izod. What did you use to attach the tow strap to the 2x4?

Nice rack!  How do you load/unload the kayak for the top rack?  from the side?

Sawed an uphill cut into the upright, and put a through screw into the strap

I just take the stern off the rack and lay it on a crate, then walk to the bow and lift it off.
