Well, came home and had to get one thing from my truck. So i opened my passenger side door with no problem. But when it came to close it, it did not want to latch back up. So i pulled the door panel and did some testing of the mechanism by pulling door handle from inside/outside but nothing. I also checked inside door to see if there was any chance a spring or clip might have broken/came off but nothing. I added a picture of the mechanism, who knows there might be something missing or not look right.

So now i need some help to figure this out.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks
Chuwy

The door is latched without the pin in it, pull the door handle and manually pull the black piece the white pipe is in

^^^

It's like your door shut w/o you closing it.
The thing in your door that latches around the pin; pull on it while you pull the door handle like you are opening your door.
Once it is open, lubricate it.

Well the latch itself does not lock. I did notice this little pin that im point with the pen(white) witch controls the lock. It locks the latch in place when its up. But it will not stay up when i lock the truck with key, interior electric button or just push down door button.

Pull handle and hold it open and flip the latching arm back.

Ok folks after a live conversations his door closes all the way but the latch is failing to engage in the closed position, sounds like it's either stickin in a open position internally or something broke off. If anyone with a little auto body or just latch experience is closer maybe , I couldn't convince him to drive it up here with the door tied shut to fix it and fish..... although I do have a welder so Dukes of Hazard that sucker maybe?

If you can get a latch assembly any auto body shop or yourself can install it. Just get. Whole complete assembly. Instead of trying to fix little things unless you can figure out what broke loose.

White pen picture: usually there's a rod that slips thru and the plastic clips over it and locks. Maybe check that out.

Ok. This morning i told myself i would make this thing work again. And after taking the panel off the drivers side door i was able to see how the mechanism worked. There was nothing missing/broken on the one that was not working. I did notice that the pin where im pointing with the white pen did not maintain its position (which was up) so i attached a soft wrapped in plastic wire with a crimp to keep it from sliding off.

And guess what? It works just fine now. After opening and closing the door/locks many times its still holding on tight.

I guess a picture would of told the whole story but I did not think of it when i had figured it out.

Thanks to those that offered their suggestions and knowledge on this matter.

Now back on the road with my favorite ride so far..who knows what will come next.

Thanks guys
