Hello, my kayak has a small hole in it. The hole is below the waterline. Any ideas on how to fix it? The yak came with extra plastic from a hatch install.

If you're in Santa Cruz, take it to Jim's shop (Santa Cruz kayaks) and have him weld it closed for you

Plastic welder, heat gun, and piece of polyethylene. Not too difficult.  There's some good YouTube vids on it.

Fill the hull after and check for leaks. Then fill the hull with pool noodles. You may have a good weld to the eye, but in cold water, the plastic will contract, and you may have a sweat spot that lets water in. I would take it to Jim or where you purchased it, Dan at Headwaters can patch holes too. You want to be certain you will not be taking on water before you use it again.

Here's the end result. I did what most of the YouTube videos said to do with a heat gun and left over boat hull material. Will definitely be putting pool noodles before my next outing. Thank you guys for the advice.

Looks like you've finished.  Did you drill stress relief holes at each end of the crack?  If you have to repair the area again - and I'm not saying you will - drill small holes at each end to keep the crack from getting longer.

The plastic is flexed at the end of the hole, and weak. You should drill them as stated. This will give you good plastic to weld to, and the fluid patch plastic will purge into the hole and help bond to the hull.

I forgot to drill holes in it. So far it's holding up well. Thanks for the advice!
