I've been getting out about 2x a week. Lots of fish some days, others not so many. Finally landed my first double-digit fish (11 lbs) yesterday. Most days have featured a few in the 4-5 lb range & of course multiple fish less than 18".

I haven't tried many flies, though. Pretty much just put on a chart/white clouser & keep fishing it. Largemouth have been hitting it too.

Another interesting point: Fairly long periods of nothing, then something turns them on & I've caught several in 30 minutes, or even less. So keep at it - you never know!

Good luck out there.
Bill

Bill mentioned frank's tract in one of his previous posts, so I'm guessing its that area.

Nice to see you getting out Bill, 2x/week is awesome. Hot bite correspond to a particular tide?

I'll be out on the Delta on Sat., and if I can pull it off either the Napa or SLR/Forebay on Sunday. Seems stripers are hot everywhere with the big fish starting to show, go now...

Napa has been really good even better than a few weeks ago according to some fly guys I talked to. One guy caught 3 fish over 10lbs in one morning from a boat.

Location: yep, pretty much around Franks so far. But I read PB reports of guys doing very well near Stockton, plus around Red Rock in San Pablo Bay.

Pics: I promise I'll take some! I really will! One I really wish I could have taken yesterday: a mink swimming by while I was stopped eating a sandwich. I'm sure any movement would have spooked him.

Tides: Lately it's seemed like slack tides are best. Kind of strange. I usually prefer outgoing, but I tend to fish when I can, rather than on when to go relative to tides. But I definitely plan my launch point around the tides.
