That looks delicious KPD.     I was thinking the same thing about putting some salt in the smoker with the next batch of trout.

Not exactly sure why but they cut and eat better than white meat Dfg planters.  And the bigger one have nice fat marble like a salmon.

General Talk / Re: Which is best welder for beginners?
« on: January 24, 2018, 04:30:27 PM »
I would suggest he try a little short term vocational class like I did 20 years ago.   It will help tremendously and he will get a chance to try it all and learn the basics of welding.. I did a 8 week class 2 nights a week at Eldorado high school.   And has been my trade every since.   For some people it's hard as hell or you just have the wrist for it.   Cheap welding stuff is a challenge sometimes even for a all position unlimited welder of stick , flux, mig. This is just my opinion but I would steer clear of harbor freight and sorry brother Tote.  Btw I'm a Lincoln guy all the way but the company I work with now has all Miller's     used them both throughout the years and Lincoln's are hard to beat.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Salmon jigs
« on: September 11, 2017, 10:43:36 PM »
Yep thats right.  All them fine looking jigs must have a single hook up above the bridge. I been thinking of jigging some up myself. I see you live down the road from me. 1/0 or 2/0 is what i would use.  Good luck and might see you out there.
