Title: real estate agent for Shelter/Whitethorne area?
Post by: PISCEAN on March 13, 2018, 10:27:29 AM
Hi guys, figured I'd ask this question here.  Would any of you North Coasters have an agent to recommend? I've got one potential but would appreciate any suggestions as well.

Never thought I'd hear my wife say "why not move to the Cove or Bragg?" but here we are :smt007

Never gone property shopping without external duress, so I'm kinda looking forward to it.
We've got kayak-unrelated friends in the Hydesville and Ferndale areas we're going to visit soon so we can get a nice taste of the place.

thanks guys!

I would highly recommend April Piercy here in the Cove. Very active and motivated, call us at the Tides Inn for her info or any questions

If you are looking Cove and whitethorn specific April Piercy. If you are expanding up toward eel river valley and points north I recommend Larry Doss of Ming Tree in Eureka.

HavenÂ’t had the best of luck in Ft Bragg but was still able to buy a house after finding one on my own.

If you see anything you want more info or pictures on in Ft Bragg area let me know and I can go get more or see if there are cars parked on the lawn for you.

 :smt005 awesome, thanks DG.
we've got a friend living in Mendo that we'll be staying with for a few days while we scout out the Noyo/greater Bragg area. Over the years we've stayed in a handful of places between Elk and Rockport. Certainly saw some places with lawn cars around Westport, but I love the Westport Whale.

My wife likes Noyo since her great uncle used to live and fish there. The family story is that one day Uncle tied up at the dock, got his daily post fishing beer and lawn chair , and then died sitting there looking at his boat. So goes the family legend anyway.

Why stop there we got rock fishing all year long (usually) a little farther north.... if you can handle a little rain.

What Chad said.

I am gently trying to convince Her we don't need to be near a hospital.

😀  I figured you were talking County

I am gently trying to convince Her we don't need to be near a hospital.

Hospitals are not as important if you are healthy or younger.  As we have been getting older and need more specialists even we have to travel away from our local hospital.  From Ft bragg it’s usually a trip to Sant Rosa and that ends up being an all day adventure.

Most people that still need a good income will have a harder time in some of these smaller coastal communities.  Unless they don’t need to make a lot of money, have a specialized skill or trade or are willing to travel for a job.

I probably would have never ended up on the coast if my wife had not grown up here and strongly recommended a change.
