Just got back from seven days fishing the Markleeville area with two fly-buds, with a side trip to Lower Twin lake at Bridgeport. The weather was fantasic all week. Lower Twin is fishing great with lots of 12-15", and good numbers of 3-5 pounders too! So good, we went back a couple of days later and roughed them up again. I don't usually keep trout, but these were all stockers and they are destined to go to a nearby smoker. The old wooly worm was what they wanted.

The upper Wolf Creek is beautiful and the water was perfect, but we never were touched, so we moved to the E. Carson @ Wolf Creek and caught a couple but not worth that much effort - a little too big, and growing as it gets down to Hangmans bridge. Maybe a week or so and it will be prime.

Indian Creek Res. was Slooooow.

The West Carson is good  through the canyon, and the Hope Valley meadow area had good dry fly fishing for 8-13" on PMD's and Para-Adams, but it was mid-week. The weekends are usually too crowded for me.

Let's go fishin', and don't look back, cuz you'll never see a hearse with a kayak rack!

Beautiful fish and scenery, bummer about the tire tho.
My mother and I fished the west and east Carson Sunday and didn't get anything over 8", so a 13" sounds like a trophy!!  We also fished Mosquito lake on the way home but only got a lot of follows...

Super slow. Fished for 4 hours, and not even a touch. Mostly fish streamers at various depths, but also indicator nymphed for an hour. My buddy Mark got one on a dry as soon as we put in, but that was it. Talked to a local who fishes there every day, and he said it's been slow for at least a week. The water's a dingy greenish/brown.

Oh man...you were fishing some of my favorite spots Jim! I'm jealous. But glad you posted that report because it made me reminisce the adventures I had throughout that area. To this day, one of the best fish I ever caught was a 6-7lb LCT above wolf ck junction on the E Carson. I'll never forget that one.

Awesome, looks like a great trip, can't beat the scenery. I can relate to the flat tire, I got one coming out of the conservancy on the McCloud...then another one a few miles later driving up the hill on 89, LOL.
