General Talk / Where is the Albion NCKA camping map?
« on: April 23, 2018, 01:09:52 PM »
I cant find the thread that shows everyones spots.

Hey everyone,

I have decided to hold an MBF on April 21st to coincide with the Yak A Bass fishing tournament on April 22nd. It will be open to any and all who would like to participate, as long as the fish are caught from a kayak. Rules will be simple and will be provided below. The event will take place at Putah Canyon campground since this is where the tournament is. The day before is a HOW event being held at Steele Canyon. If you can join us for both that would be great. Plenty of camping available at campground still still.

This will be a multi species event. It will still lean towards bass fishing though. Launch at Putah Canyon ramp only. Launch anytime after 6am. Check in will be no later than 8pm. That will give everyone that wants to play a fair chance even if coming to the lake late afternoon Sat for the tourney Sunday.

I will announce how MBF payment will work for late arrivals before event.

$10 entry
Overall total inches will be the winner.
CPR event only, no fish to the check in
50/30/20 for the pot
Wilderness Systems/Harmony Gear will supply some prizes too! To be announced before event. Maybe even some hourly prizes!

Species to include:
LMB, SMB, Spots, Panfish, Catfish, Trout, Kokanee, Salmon,
Only 1 Salmonid will be allowed at check in
Only one fish per species allowed at check in.
IE: 1 LMB, 1 SMB, 1 panfish, 1 trout. Up to 6 fish total.
Trolling IS allowed
NO live bait
Only one rod in the water at a time
Standard YAB measuring rules will apply with identifier.

Check in will be as follows:
All anglers will get a scorecard. You will record your catches and turn that in. The top 5 anglers will be asked to show their catches by photo for verification. Top 3 will get the money. If any of the top 3 have deductions which cause a change in placing, the placement will be adjusted accordingly, possibly rolling spots 4-5 up.

Hey all,
I am not sure if we posted this event or not. Anyway, we could use a few more volunteers to take some vets out fishing and to also help with set up and tear down. If you think you can help us out please post here so we can see your interest.

For Sale / Sold----Humminbird 688ci HD Combo fishfinder $250
« on: January 11, 2018, 12:04:38 PM »
Hey all,
This fish Finder was donated to HOW a while back and it is time to sell it. It is brand new in the box. I would prefer to use the NCKA express and not ship it. Deliver to Crabfest possibly if someone is headed there from my area. Will ship if buyer pays shipping.

Anyone heading down there from the Sac area?

For Sale / Astral Ronny Fisher PFD $60
« on: July 24, 2017, 08:23:45 AM »
Selling for a friend. This PFD is in good shape. Large/XL. Retails at $150+. Prefer pick up or NCKA express, but will ship for same price.

Here is a video that will show how to properly tighten the prop on the Wilderness Systems Helix pedal drive. I recommend to also use a little blue Loctite on the threads as well. I have used a paint pen as well on the crank arm and head unit to know when it is aligned properly.

General Talk / Well Tank Advise
« on: July 10, 2017, 11:00:03 AM »
I am looking for advise on a new well tank. I discovered a couple days ago that mine has a small leak in the tank at the bottom. It is a 30yr old galvanized tank. I need to fix it soon before the old one ruptures. I am not sure if this one has a bladder in it or not since it does have a valve on top like a bladder one would. I do not know if The galvanized ones came with bladders 30 years ago. Should I just replace with the same, or change to a bladder style one if it does not have one? The pressurized bladder ones seem to be the way to go. I assume I will need to make small changes to the way I plumb it. I have not researched it at all yet and figured I would reach out here for any advise.
