General Talk / Looking for Pig heads in the area

Apologies for putting in this forum. I thought I’d get more eyes and I’m kinda in a crunch for time. I’m looking for a couple pig heads, whole or split, to try some recipes. Anyone know where in the Bay Area I can get some? I’ve gotten them from Bud’s in the past but that’s a bit of a trek.

Wanted To Buy / looking for surf rod

I am looking for a surf rod to pair with my Shimano baitrunner 6500. I found a spot in my basement that looks uncluttered and I have a need to fill it.

J/K, I'd like to try crab snaring. I don't know anything about surf rods. Longer = better? Thanks

General Talk / New Zealand trip

I have the opportunity to bum around the north island and the top of the south island by myself for 3 weeks. I plan to rent a car and camp/hostel/squat from dive sight to good food to anything interesting. I fly into Wellington, fly out of Auckland to Christchurch.

If you've been, what do you recommend I not miss?

Besides Fleming Meadows and Moccasin point marinas, where do you like to launch when fishing lake Don Pedro? Are there easy to drive to shore launch points closer to scenic/fishing spots? TIA

General Talk / kayak recommendations for 10-12 year olds

I got my two nephews onto kayaks while on vacation and they enjoyed the experience. They're 10 and 12 years old between 90-110lbs (probably lighter but will probably grow very soon). What brand model SOT kayaks would you recommend for them? They will be using in calm bays first.

Not much to report on so I’ll just post a picture. Went out and picked up dinner. Slipper lobsters may not be pretty but they may be the most intensely shellfish flavored critters.

General Talk / 3lb frozen squid at Safeway online for $1.06 edit price increase

Saw on FB that Safeway is selling 3lb boxes of frozen squid for $1.06 per box. Online order limits you to 20boxes. Load up for the opener.

Edit: price has been increased to $16.99/box. I guess they caught the mistake. If you google "price of squid per pound", you will still see the $1.06 in an ad. Hope they honor my purchase price.

Another member (P sherman) and I have our trailer (mine) and boat (John's) stored at Fremont Auto mall storage. They sold the property and consequently we're getting evicted. We're looking for a new place to store our toys. If you have yours stored somewhere and they may have space, please let us know.
