1 New PM (not)

For some reason I show 1 new pm when there are no unread pm's. I think there might have been an Internet glitch as I was opening one of the messages. Is there any way I can correct this?

There is nothing to respond to. I have lots of messages in my mail box but none are new. I wouldn't know which one to respond to.

I was just goofing around.

Maybe pm one of the mods. Maybe they know.

    My totally non-technical guess, someone sent you a pm, you got sick of that person and blocked them, now you have a pm which you can't open. Possible??
  You can always put a piece of electrical tape on that part of the monitor if you don't want to look at it.

Are you sure you cleared all your cookies?  Because this has worked every other time I've seen this issue.

I'm on an iPad. There is one button "clear history and website data." After that my forever login is undone. The browser no longer remembers my preference to use the desktop version of my yahoo page. I am pretty sure the cookies are cleared. Also it shows on three different devices. I am guessing if it was a cookie problem it would only be on the device I was using when the error occurred. I was sending and receiving several pm's to organize the group site for simply fishing. When that is finished I will delete those pm's and see if that solves the problem.

Even though none of the messages showed as new I decided to read through them again. I clicked on each message and waited while it fully loaded before back paging and clicking the next. On the 14th read message the 1 New went away. I had already read them all once before but I guess it must have fouled up somewhere. All fixed now. 

Edit to add that I just got another new message and it worked correctly.

i had the same problem this morning.  I sent myself a new PM and it went away.

It may be local singles wanting to do the sheet dance!
