Got lucky at Pedro Point last Sunday, October 13.
32 inches. 14 pounds!   The biggest Ling I have ever caught!
I was trolling an anchovie in 20 ft of water.  It was the icing on the perfect,
beautiful calm day. Saw a white jellyfish, many sea lion families, etc.  Did a beach landing to clean the fish and
remove seagrass from my propeller.  Quite an adventure.

At first, I thought I might be snagged on the bottom.  Then the line pulled and the reel screamed!.  Then I hoped it wasn't a sea lion.  My kayak swung around and I played the fish until he tired after a few minutes.  He floated just below the surface next to my kayak, exhausted.  I grabbed him with my lip clamp and swung him aboard.

If anyone goes out that area, contact me. I like going with others.
I’m in my fourth year, finally getting some skills/luck.

I'm new to kayaking and suck at fishing. When I get more comfortable, I wouldn't mind tagging along. Btw, when you were trolling the anchovy, was the lingcod the fish you were targeting or were you targeting something else like salmon but got lucky with the ling?
