Wow!  Tremendous intel here!  Thought I would toss in Ko-Ket landing.  It is in a good spot for salmon on the old Sac.  Address is listed as Isleton, but it is actually closer to Walnut Grove--about 10 miles up river from Vierra's.  I live right downriver across from the Ryde Hotel.  If anyone wants to PM me you can launch for free at my place.-  Jeff

Well worth it! Access via this free ramp to Lost Slough, Sacramento River, Snodgrass Slough, Mokelumne River. I use this access the most. Never paid its free. While doing some shore fishing over the winter, a Patrol Officer carded me and told me that this coming summer all Delta posted No Parking will be enforced (be forewarned) so then he told me about the Locke Parking and Meadows Slough Launch.

The Delta Meadows gate is locked. Looks like plenty of room to park near the gate with an easy walk to the ramp.

Is it safe to leave car there? I drove down there a while back and was not too impressed with the parking situation. Safety that is.

I think it might be considered a risky area. I've seen guys casing cars at the ramp area a few times,

I really want to launch and fish there, but maybe there is a better, safer place.

I've been trying to find a place to launch and hit the I-5 bridge over lost slough and thought this was it. Walnut Grove Marina appears to be the closest safest launch. Will be fishing near here one day later this week as schedule allows.

Tight lines~!

I have been launching where Liberty Island road crosses Shag Slough. You can park and walk across the bridge and launch on the bank. Does anyone know if it is possible to launch near the south end of Liberty Island near the Haisting Island bridge? Thanks ken

Well I can answer my own question now. I went down and took a look and everything was posted, fenced and gated. There is an old house that might have access if you lived there or were friends with the owner. Here are a few photos I took...

Cliffhouse Fishing Access is on 160 near the Rio Vista bridge. I drove right past this one and had to turn around to check it out. The is a Sacto County park with a self pay box, $4 for parking. This was one of the best non-boat ramp launch areas I found today. Easy walk down few stairs, across some old drift wood and to a small beach. Direct access to the Sacramento River with good vegetation along the banks. Looks like a great area when the wind isn't blowing.

I went here today and it wasn't what I expected. Maybe it's time to review and update some of this info. Here is a photo of what I found.

I ended up launching almost directly across the river from the cliff house. You can find it by looking for the cell phone tower close to the parking area and there is a rusted shipwreck on the river. It has good access to the water. It's a very short walk to the water.
