Picked up a couple of pots at a garage sale and was wondering if anyone has used the rubberized spray to protect the frame instead of wrapping with rubber.

I think you're talking about Flex Seal or Plastic Dip spray? Never used it on a crab pot but have on a downrigger weight. Can say that the coating comes off over time.
