Someone just sent me this video of the new Jackson Kilroy. Looks like the stability for standing is going to be amazing. I'm hoping to see our first demo boats show up next week. Pretty excited to use one of these babies!

I have 2 questions: When can I try one? Who is that guy fly fishing out of his kayak?

As soon as I'm done, and I have no idea who is fly fishing out of it. I've had it one the water a few times so far and I love the stability for standing. By far the most stable Jackson boat to date. I'm headed out this AM with it. Will try and get some photos.

Therea are so many things to like about the Kilroy -- like what I see!

Question (driven by ignorance; not to be critical of a great thing):  How would a sit in (any sit in) work in the ocean?  On the water I don't forsee any problem - its the launches that I'm curious about.  If you flip, it fills up -- sinks?

That question aside - this looks like a fresh water fishing and hunting dream machine!  I really like the interior stowing options, tracks so you have flexible mounting of accessories, and the hard deck looks to be a very handy and well thought out design.

I would check out the walkthrough video on Jackson's website for more details, but I think that they put a sealed bulkead in the rear of the boat where the hatch is to provide dry storage and extra flotation. As far as flipping is concerned, so long as you are with another experienced kayaker, the other person could use an assisted rescue and easily empty most of the water out of the boat before it was flipped back rightside up. I would think that the bigger concern would be if it was rough enough that you were taking waves over the bow and the boat filled that way slowing you down and eventually leading to a capsize. Maybe there is a huge aftermarket sprayskirt that would cover the cockpit. Any thoughts Paddleboy?

Bio-Bil1, you are correct - there is a sealed bulkhead in the rear.

I don't think this kayak is intended for the salt. It is a sweet freshwater kayak.

Always the voice of reason Victor. I figured with a name like wipeout, he likes to paddle adventurously.

That is a very wide sit in, I suspect it is meant for rivers with a some flow to get you moving
