Title: 280 South Mishap
Post by: & on August 26, 2011, 09:50:15 AM
The other day (Tuesday?) I zoomed past a truck parked on the roadside of 280 south.  Truck was towing a trailer with a bunch of kayaks stacked.  Saw a few guys joking it up alongside the truck.  Wanted to stop but my carpool mates insisted carrying on (they have families they need to get home to).

NCKA'ers?

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one.  Whenever I pass a car with a yak on it, I first look to see if there is a NCKA sticker on it.  I actually drove up next to a stopped car once to introduce myself and it turned out to be Yakhopper.

Martin, for future reference, I'm in a red Mitsubishi with a Yellow Adventure on top.

Happy Friday everyone.

Reminds me of this red car with racks that blew past me on 101 a few weeks ago! The sticker on the back window was just a blur!

funny, I was driving back from Santa Barbara on Sunday on the 101 and I had this thought :

When I used to see kayaks on cars on the freeway my attention was on the yak, what make model etc.
Now when I see yaks on cars I'm looking at the vehicle and trying to see if I know the driver.

Ummm, yea....that would be us....lol!  Coming back from HMB after a great day on the water with our new friend, Rshu.  The guy is bad luck, I'm telling ya!  Stress fracture on the bracket caused the failure.  Luckily, there was no damage or injuries.  We're working on a new, improved kayak trailor model.  Beta version 1.1.

Fishing report.  Flat calm all day.  We could have put a candle on the front of our kayak and it would have stayed lit!  Fished at the green can and west of it for three ling and some brown rockcod. The biggest ling went almost 10 lbs.
