joel, we do have search already, the search button above,  :smt002

I have used it quite a bit, like that's how I was able to quote ChuckE on the cabelas gripper, I searched on cabelas.

but it's hard to know what to search on for a lot of stuff.

Bill, you are right, I did commit the sin of suggesting implementation before defining the problem! I guess that is a variant on: Premature optimization is the root of all evil! Or first things first.

But basically Bill has stated the issue well.

In my mind there is the info that doesn't change with time. knots, rigs, lures for species X, etc.  Articles do a good job with that but are hard to obtain, static, one person's viewpoint etc. The combined knowledge in
the viewers of NCKA is pretty large. But no one person knows everything. Somehow, one wants to harvest all that good info and make it easily available.

then there is the information that gets stale quickly. fishing reports (except when they turn into a discussion of leader strength,  :smt003 ),
news of tournaments. Little jokes and friends exchanging jibs. That info is valuable, but it has a short lifetime and a more limited audience.

You have the forums, you have articles and you have the gallery. Those are the fundamental tools.

In my mind the forum is the most powerful tool. So that's why I suggested that, but it is true they get clogged with a lot of junk.
some of it mine,  :smt003

okay, my compile is done, gotta get back to work!

I think this is a terrific idea.

One of the (many) things I like about these forums is the opportunity to learn from the (many) knowledgeable folks here.

The ability to easily locate information about specific species/topics would be invaluable.
