One of the most unique things things to come out of Icast was not a new boat. It was the fact that you an turn your existing boat into a pedal drive with the option of a motor all in one unit. The time that must have gone into this design is mind blowing. All in all it came out really clean. Feelfree brought a prototype drive to the show with mostly 3d printed parts, but the core idea of how its all going to fit is dialed in. Check out my interview with Feelfree's head engineer Peter Murphy.

Here is a video they posted to Facebook this AM of the motor drive in action.

Thanks for the video Dan.  The design looks sleek  :smt007

The variable pitch on the propeller sounds like a great idea---wish they'd showed more of that. But, I gotta wonder how much that thing weighs...

Now they are saying Summer. Word on the street is they had issues with the drive houseing, and went to an all aluminum cast housing. I've seen the pictured of the production drive and it looks so much more legit than what was at Icast. Here was the latest update from Feelfree.

I am looking into purchasing one but a bit on the edge side for it being a first version for them.
