Some of you SC/Monterey County folks may have heard the tragic news earlier this month of 12year old old Coco Lazenby being killed in a car crash on Highway 1.

Cocos' mom, Kate, is a good friend of mine and we have trained for and run multiple races together while raising money through Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Coco was an amazing young girl and my heart aches for her and her Mom and family...

I was already registered to run the Nike Women's Half Marathon while wearing my Team Mooch Jersey (as I have done for the past several years), but when I heard that Coco's mom Kate and other members of our local Team in Training family were dedicating their season to Coco and trying to collectively raise $100,000 to donate a medical research grant in Coco's name, I felt inspired to try and do what I could to help out...

I will be training for and running the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco on 10/18 in memory of both Coco and Mooch and will be trying to raise $1,000 for Team Coco while doing it.

Donations are tax deductible and can be made here:

No donation amount is too small, and anything at all is appreciated including words and thoughts of encouragement.

Thank you!!
