Maybe for fresh water lakes with no wind waves?  I can see that thing folding up after steady hits from lots of waves.

I like that better than the blow up kind.  No real need for one but if I ever wanted to float around a lake and save gas by bringing my car that may be a good idea.  Pretty cool to be able to take on plane.

My friend sent me the link to this. I thought it was pretty cool. Then my mind wandered...."What if it gets hammered by a GWS" then you've got legos in the water without a chew toy for the shark. lol. That's where it ended. Nevertheless a cool idea for freshwater for sure.

the packed size is still pretty big, I'd need to use my truck to have space for it and fishing gear.  but for birdwatchers and leisure paddlers its totally trunk size.

Saw this a few days ago; I really like the idea and hope they hit their kickstarter goal. I'd love to see one of these things in action.

Agree on the likely-just-for-calm-freshwater, but as I do a lot of that kind of paddling anyhow, I'd love something other than my little inflatable that I could throw into the back of my stupid little hatchback and go for it. Much cooler idea than the Point 65 modular kayaks, IMHO.

Thread hijack-edly, any folks here try out the oru folders yet?

Almost 1/2 million dollars in backers? Kickstarter is marvelous for tapping into excess funds.

"hold on let me reorganize it"
"Still no...It's still too big."
"Let me break it down a little more"
"Ok, you are good"
