The Eddyline Caribbean was featured in the Ouside Gear of the Year Issue. Check out what they had to say.

I'm waiting to upgrade until this comes out, so I'm happy to hear it is in the works.
It'll have to compete with an Abaco and whatever the new OK yak is now :smt044

Just got off the phone with Tom Derrer from Eddyline. The Prototype is done. They will be testing it for the next couple of weeks before it goes into final mold. RTM and Ocean Kayak both make incredible kayaks, but Eddyline is going to knock 20-30lbs off the weight. The features include Rear day hatch, rod pod with rod tube for up to 7' rods, mounting tracks, recessed tackle storage, new plumbing for the seat to keep you ass dry but still drain. As soon as I get the go ahead from Tom I will post up some photos. It's going to be a slick ride. Meanwhile congrats to the Caribbean 12', its changing the game for sit on tops.

Dan and Victor

Thanks so much for my Carribean (AKA, Calypso). Can't say how much I love it. Really perfect for the long portages and rope drops which define the central coast commando kayak fishing experience. Really easy to shoulder.

I hope that they lower the profile of the kayak Dan. The 12 sits pretty high. I havent paddled it in a stiff breeze yet. Just looking at it tells me some stuff.

The 12' does sit a little high and I am using a STS Pro Angler seat which brings the COG up 2" but the yak is really stable even with the higher COG. Took it out in Monterey yesterday in 10-12 kt winds and generally snotty conditions and it did fine. All that said, I agree that lowering the seat an inch or 2 would be a good idea since many anglers use thick after market seats. Took a lot of waves over the bow trolling upwind and the front hatch is pretty tight but did leak about 1 cup of water, no big deal. Surprising fast for a 12' yak, and the acceleration and cruising speed are equal to a P13 or T13, and no I don't want to race you Craig.  :smt005
