I've always been intimidated about making my own lures, especially because of the painting. I guess I always thought it would be hard and/or messy. But in preparation for coming down to Albion I knew I would need to make some jig heads if I was going to get exactly what I want. Strangely enough, 4oz red or brown shad head jigs aren't real popular for trout fishing in the tackle shops here in Idaho!  :smt044

So for just a few bucks paid to WildernessHunter for 24 jig heads, $5 in powder paint and $3 in 3d molded eyes I have 6 4oz jig heads in brown, 6 4oz jig heads in red, 6 3oz jig heads in brown, and 6 3oz jig heads in red. Awesome!

That's what I want to do with the jigheads that I got from Brian too Jay. I just need to do a little research of where to buy my materials.

I bought the powder paint and eyes from Cabela's since we have one just a few miles away. But, there in the bay area I'm sure there are places that sell the materials. I seem to remember Discount Mart Bay Tackle in El Cerrito carrying some supplies, or I'll bet Hi's would have what you need.

See you in a couple weeks!  :smt006
