barbed hooks allowed in this section of the river.  i doubt you'll be able to paddle upstream to the barbless zone from howe.
the barbless section ends at ancil hoffman park SMUD powerlines. anything downstream from there is barby-capable.

Here are the coordinates of the powerlines:

Thanks man, I was trying to figure it out on my own but I don’t know the area so the landmarks aren’t familiar to me.

Also, no non buoyant lures over 1 ounce are allowed to have trebles.  so anything like a spinner or a jig that is more than 1 oz in weight has to have a single hook.

Is that where we're fishing or in the barbless section?

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

FYI, there will be boaters launching as well, mostly small aluminums..try to be fast or wheel your kayaks to the right of the ramp on the beach. Stuck a nice 17lb. Hen upriver from Howe..there's some big fish coming in gents..don't forget the net and tie good knots. 1oz weights on a 2ft dropper with a 3 and half ft leader to a spinner on a 3wY swivel has been working best for me. Anchored or trolled. U need to be in some good current tho if your gonna back troll Quickfish, or spinners. Roe is always a good option too. 3 days to go!!! :smt007 :smt007

Yes, I'll be there also. Hopefully things will go better for me than it did the last time I was on the river.  :smt009
