JTF,
Just a speargun.  We were hunting yellowfin off Guadalupe Island.  We promptly exited the water.  That place is crazy with sharks.

But it's on the internet...it must be true!

Hasn't this story shown up on the forum before?  I seem to remember seeing it here in the last year.

The true story is still pretty crazy though...caught hook & line by a sports fisherman?  That must have been one heck of a fight!

8'6" Thresher caught on 20 lb. mono in Nov 2008 off the Flemish Cap.  Fought it for 1.25 hours, towed me 1.25 miles.  Jumped clean out of the water 4 times, 1 jump was around 8' out of the water. Insane!  See "Nurple Point" story for the long version!!!

Thank you, sir. Perhaps someone knowledgeable should create a list of the various abbreviations and colorful nicknames everyone insists on always using. I have to damn near decipher half of the locations posted sometimes.Haysoos Creesto!
